As with much of Europe, Hallowe'en is becoming ever more popular as an excuse for otherwise sensible people to get dressed up in ridiculous fashion and go out to party.
When I was growing up this was a festival purely for the kids. We were dressed up as home-made ghosts or goblins and sent off in groups along the country roads near my Aunt's house, effectively to beg for sweets and chocolate. Or apples and nuts, if you were unfortunate enough to be given these wretched substitutes.
